Tantowi Yahya was born in Palembang, South Sumatra, October 29, 1960. Tantowi also known as country music icon Indonesia. Tantowi is a son from H.M. Matusin and Hj Yahya. Lunar Yahya. He is the older brother of Helmy Yahya who is also a presenter.

Tantowi married to Dewi Handayari and had a son who was born on 11 April 2001, named Muhammad Yahya Prasanna Adjani. This boy is a member of the Milan Junior Camp Indonesian squad that won the Milan Day Challenge Tournament in Italy.
